[ All Baelish gets in response at first is a bunch of rodenty squeaks and chirrups. The rats have picked up the communicator, and it takes about ten seconds for them to bring it over to Mouse so he can answer properly. ]

You remember the attacks in Philadelphia at the end of July, correct?

The ones with the giant monsters? Of course I do, you broke your leg and your birds saved Trouncer the Second and Minerva. Why?

I have been searching for the remains of one of those monsters. I feel as though researching them will be the key to uncovering where it is they came from. None of our fellow imPorts seem to have taken samples, unfortunately. So I thought, perhaps there might be something to find in the sewer system.

And I thought you and your rats would be extremely helpful in this search. If you would wish to join me and my bodyguard?

Well, I am glad for your enthusiasm. I know with you there, this will go much smoother. I'm aiming for sometime within the first couple weeks of December. I'll come to you with a more concrete date as we get closer to it.

I imagine it will be quite cold. We are closer to the North and it is winter. Granted, I only have my own winters by which to judge. And they are not only terrible, but last for years.

Oh, ouch. I'm kinda surprised you guys didn't have to hibernate or go on vacation.

... Wait, there's gonna be snow... snow means boots.

There may be snow. I cannot say one way or the other. But likely, there will not be snow underground. And we will be in a vehicle until we reach a way to access the sewers.

[ Perhaps it's a bit old-fashioned, but the message arrives for Jayden via mockingbird. Sealed closed by a wax mockingbird sigil, the letter is hand-written in careful cursive. ]

Your Grace -

I hope all has been well since last we saw each other, and I hope to acquire your aid once more. I write to you on behalf of a project I am working on within my city. Construction has already begun on rebuilding a much larger library, but I wish for this to be more than simply a bigger structure. I hope to inspire education and the spread of knowledge to the natives of Maurtia Falls as well as provide an invaluable resource to new arrivals here. But more than that, I wish to use it to pay homage to the natives who lost their lives within Maurtia Falls due to imPort related tragedies. Their names will be honored within the library itself and donations will be set up to be made to the families.

For this project to succeed, I need your help. If you are able to donate anything at all to the cause, it would be most appreciated -- whether that is books, money, or simply your time. I believe if you could convince some of your best behaved and cleanest rats to attend a fundraiser, it might be very educational for the children to interact with your royal subjects. This could help create a better understanding between mouse and man.

We would be happy to come to a fundraiser, I can bring Mr. Zimmerfloss and his family, they are the FANCIEST rats I know. I can even make them little hats if they have to dress up, but Aloysious might eat his, he does that a lot.

It depends on the turn out. If there are a lot of children, we may need to hold the event outdoors. You may want to get tiny jackets for your rats just in case. I know an excellent tailor, should they need it.

They have not. But before me, they also had not made clothing tailored toward my specific time period -- so I've little doubt they'll be able to make something for your rats. Will they keep still for measurements?
